Nice walk around Tewksbury last night including the 1655 Baptist Chapel-didnt realise the Baptists went back that far. After breakfast at Coffee One in the town, set off at about 1100 after turning the boat in the Mill Avon.
Its always difficult when the Lock keeper, who should know, says "Turn just past the new flats" yet when we got to the "new flats" a fisherman says "you dont want to be turning there!" particularly when he is laughing and obviously no one turns there.
But we did turn there, no problem. But the fisherman just kept laughing. Strange.
Off up the Avon. Better view over the banks but squally showers for the first bit. You could see them coming from the Severn plain then rolling out across the vale of Evesham leaving a sort of sunshine.
Bredon hill comes and goes and comes into view again. Under the M5 and under the Bristol to Birmingham Railway line. The three locks we did today were vicious.
Moored up at the recreation field in Pershore. Lamb chops for tea then a walk out into the lovely Georgian town to the the "Brandy Cask" public house complete with brewery on premises. Excellent pint of ale.
